So a lot of people ask me my lineage, paddati. I am walking towards “akulacharya” from “kaulacharya”…an eventual process of transformation. Which tantra i follow: Kulachudamani tantra where Maa Durga is Shiv herself- the guru ,is a nigama, meaning that instead of Devi asking questions answered by Lord Shiva (agama), he asks questions answered by Devi.
I’ll explain the difference between akulacharya and kaulacharya. Kaula path—a system that often utilizes transgressive or ritualistic methods to transcend societal taboos and achieve liberation. Akulacharya, on the other hand, represents the state of supreme, unconditioned consciousness- a state of non-duality and Adwaita. The term Kaula derives from Kula, which means family, clan, or the total cluster of energies.
Metaphysically, Kula represents Shakti (the manifest universe and divine energy). Practices: Kaulacharas worship both male and female deities, often following Vamachara (the left-hand path). This lineage is known for using the Panchamakaras (the “Five Ms”—wine, fish, meat, mudra, and ritual union) not as physical indulgences, but as spiritual tools to break mental conditioning and dissolve dualities.
Akula is formed by adding the prefix “a” (meaning “beyond” or “non”) to Kula. It denotes supreme, undifferentiated consciousness that lies beyond the realm of manifested energies. Metaphysically, Akula represents Shiva – the absolute, unchanging witness

The Kaula path is method-oriented, focusing on kundalini awakenings, rituals, and mastering the body and senses. Akula is the state of total freedom, beyond all definitions, methods, and practices.
