Om Saravanabhavaya Namah is an extremely powerful mantra of Lord Kartikeya (Murugan). Its main purpose is to attain courage, protection, wisdom. This mantra is chanted to bring good luck, prosperity and spiritual awakening in life…
It originates from ancient Vedic and Puranic traditions, with its specific six-syllable (Shadakshara) form famously detailed in the Kantha Puranam, written by the poet-saint Kachiappar Sivachariar
Lord Murugan is worshiped with the “6 letter mantra: Sa Ra Va Na Ba Va”. The first two syllables SA-RA are said to be Kumarabijas (auspicious for Muruga) , the middle two syllables VA-NA are said to be Shaktibijas (auspicious for Amma Shakti) and the last two syllables BA-VA are said to be Shivabijas (auspicious for Lord Shiva).
A bija-mantra is the seed mantra of a particular deity. Each of the 6 syllables is dedicated to the 6 faces of Lord Muruga.
