Narasimha in Tantra: Ugra Rahasya and the Hidden Alliance with Bagalamukhi

In bahya drishti Narasimha kills a demon. In antar drishti he kills duality itself.

Neither Neither: The Core Rahasya

Hiranyakashipu is ahamkara protected by boons: neither inside nor outside, neither day nor night. Narasimha is neti neti made flesh, man lion at twilight on the threshold. Tantra reads the pillar he bursts from as sushumna. When prana can no longer move through dharma or adharma, the pillar cracks and ugra chaitanya erupts.

Kshraum and Hlreem: The Bijas

The tantric Narasimha lives in kshraum. Ksha is dissolution, ra is agni, au is the upward roar, bindu is silence after sound. Nyasa on nails, heart and brow turns the body into his claws and fire. Hence the Tapini Upanishads call it Mantraraja.

Bagalamukhi holds hlreem. Ha is akasha, la is earth, ra is fire. Earth seals sky through fire, creating nishchala, a paused universe. She is Brahmastra, who seizes spanda before it becomes shabda. Her pulling of the tongue is pashyanti stambhana.

One burns as jvala, the other binds as peeta.

Antaryaga of the Lion

In antaryaga, offerings are vasanas. Jvalant, sarvato mukha, his mane is burning samskaras. His lap is vimarsha where vikalpa mind is torn by recognition, not anger. Without Lakshmi as shamana shakti this fire consumes the nadis. With her, ugrata becomes terrible compassion.

Where Stillness Meets Fire

Esoterically they are one kriya. Bagalamukhi does bahya kumbhaka on the cosmos, freezing the vayus. Narasimha does antar daha, burning what is frozen.

Her stilling: Apana stops fleeing, vyana stops scattering, vak becomes mauna.
His burning: The held energy is drawn into hridaya agni and dissolved.

Between them moves Pratyangira, called Narasimhi, the reversal current who turns the missile back. She seals the prayoga so no krodha lingers.

This yoking is atishighra and demands diksha. Without containment, stambhana becomes jadata and ugrata becomes santapa.
