There comes a moment when you stop fighting the night and start calling it home.

The sweetness of dissolving

It never begins as destruction. It begins as closeness. You enter someone else’s darkness to love them, to heal them, to stay. Slowly you start enjoying the dissolving, because there is a perverse tenderness in being needed by darkness. The ego whispers, see how deep I can go for love.

In that sweetness, the essence of your own light begins to lose its strength to help you. Not all at once. It dims quietly, like a lamp that has agreed to share its oil with a storm.

When you stop fighting

At first you fight to come out. That fight is viveka, the discriminating intelligence still awake. You know this is not your place.

Then fatigue arrives. The mind, tired of resistance, renames defeat as destiny. This must be my karma, you think. I am meant to endure this. But karma was never a command to dismantle your core. When tamas puts on the robe of acceptance, bondage starts to look like spiritual maturity.

Leela is watching

This is the true परीक्षा of God’s leela. He does not watch to punish. He watches to see the posture of your consciousness.

Will you remain the sakshi, the witness, even inside the darkness. Will you surrender without dissolving.

Surrender and dissolution look similar from outside. Inside they are opposite. Surrender bows but keeps the center intact. It says, I love you, but I will not abandon my light to prove it. Dissolution bows and sells the center. It says, take my light, if that will keep you close.

Leela tests not your ability to escape the night, but your ability to stay rooted while loving someone who lives in it. To fight your way through does not mean to fight them. It means to fight the temptation in yourself to disappear.

Kaal and Kaam

Many win over kaal but cannot get over kaam.

Kaal is time, death, endings. Sadhana can make you fearless before it. You learn to sit in cremation grounds, outer and inner, without trembling.

Kaam is subtler. It is not only desire of the body. It is the desire to be desired by darkness itself. To be the chosen one who stays. To be the savior, the exception, the one who understands. Kaam can dress itself as devotion, as seva, as twin flame duty.

Conquering kaal makes you brave. Conquering kaam makes you free. One is victory over fear. The other is victory over the need to be needed.

The light does not leave you in a single moment. It waits to see if you will choose the witness over the drowning. In that choice, leela reveals its grace.
