Why the Same Shani Transit Gives Promotion to One Person and Job Loss to Another?
The Secret is Murthi Nirnaya – A Lost Principle of Vedic Jyotish.
In my years of studying Jyotish Shastra, the most common question I get is:
“Pandit ji, we both have the same Rashi. He got a promotion in Saturn’s transit, I lost my job. Why?”
Modern astrology stops at – Shani is in your 8th house.
Classical Jyotish never stopped there. Our Rishis gave us a powerful refinement tool called Murthi Nirnaya.
What is Murthi Nirnaya?
Murthi means – Form of Manifestation.
When a major planet like Jupiter or Saturn enters a new Rashi, at that exact moment, it assumes a metallic form to deliver its results.
There are 4 forms:
1. Swarna Murthi (Gold) – Tremendously Favourable
2. Rajat Murthi (Silver) – Favourable
3. Tamra Murthi (Copper) – Average, results after effort
4. Loha Murthi (Iron) – Unfavourable, delay and karmic test
The same planet, in the same sign, will give 4 different qualities of results depending on its Murthi for you.
This principle is preserved in Muhurta Chintamani, Manasagari, and traditional Panchanga texts.
Shloka: “Janma-Rasheh Sthite Chandre Grahasya Phala-Nirnayah”
The quality of a planet’s transit is determined by the Moon’s position from your natal Moon at ingress.
–How to Calculate it? (3-Step Method)
This is calculated from your Janma Rashi (Natal Moon Sign) – not Lagna, not Sun sign.
Step 1: Note your Janma Rashi.
Step 2: Take the day when the planet changes its Rashi.
Step 3: See where the transiting Moon is on that day from your Janma Rashi.
The Formula:
• If transiting Moon is in 1st, 6th, 11th from your Janma Rashi = Swarna (Gold)
• If in 2nd, 5th, 9th = Rajat (Silver)
• If in 3rd, 7th, 10th = Tamra (Copper)
• If in 4th, 8th, 12th = Loha (Iron)
A Real Example:
On 20th Nov 2020, Jupiter entered Capricorn. On that day, Moon was also in Capricorn.
• For Simha Rashi (Leo) – Moon was in 6th = Swarna – Tremendously favourable
• For Vrishabha Rashi (Taurus) – Moon was in 9th = Rajat – Favourable
• For Mesha Rashi (Aries) – Moon was in 10th = Tamra – Average
• For Mithuna Rashi (Gemini) – Moon was in 8th = Loha – Unfavourable
Same transit. Four different destinies. This is the precision of Jyotish.

Why metals?
• Gold is Hiranyagarbha – divine radiance and abundance in Rig Veda.
• Silver is Chandra – peace and nourishment. • Copper is Mangal energy – action and transformation.
• Iron is Shani – endurance and karma.
Loha does not mean destruction. It means the planet will make you earn the result through Tapasya.
What to do if you are in Loha Murthi?
1. Don’t panic. Murthi refines Gochara, it doesn’t replace Dasha and Ashtakavarga.
2. Remedy is linked to the metal – Daan, and Chandra Shanti.
3. Strengthen your Ishta Devata – Vishnu for Jupiter, Hanuman for Saturn.
Before giving any Gochara prediction, I always check Murthi Nirnaya. Without it, prediction is incomplete.
