Tantra was never sold in a single sitting. It was sealed, guarded and earned. The old sampradayas knew what the market denies. Mantra is a living current, and a living current attracts thieves, human and subtle. That is why protection was never optional.
Protection Before Mantra
Kavach is armor. Nyasa is embodiment.
Before a single mala of the moola, the sadhak was taught to seal the ten directions, the asana, the mala, and to place the devata on the body through kara nyasa, anga nyasa, hridaya nyasa. Without this the field leaks.
Texts speak of phala stolen when japa is left loose, unsealed, unoffered. Call it pishacha, a jealous tantrik, or scattered mind, the result is same. An unsealed vessel does not hold shakti. Sellers today send a syllable on WhatsApp and call it deeksha. They know nothing of sealing, so they protect nothing.
Kilan and Utkilan They Never Mention
Every beej is keelit, pinned. Rishis pinned mantras with shaap, argala and keelaka so they would not awaken for the greedy in Kali Yuga. Utkilan is the unpinning. Shaapoddhar lifts the lock. In Bhairav Tantra the vidhanam is clear. Without Bhairav anugya as Kshetrapala, Devi does not open. The krama involves rishi smarana, chhanda, viniyoga, keelaka uddhara, jeevan nyasa, then japa, then arpan to seal again. Chant a keelit mantra ten lakh times and it is like watering a seed locked in a steel box. Count grows, nothing sprouts. Those who sell one mantra for a fee do not teach utkilan because they never received it.
One Moola Is Not the Mahavidya
This is the greatest fraud of the deeksha bazaar. A Mahavidya is not a mantra, She is a mandala. Around the moola stand anga, upanga, pratyanga devatas, avarana shaktis, Bhairavas, Yoginis, dutas. Baglamukhi as Pitambara Brahmastra Vidya is worshipped with her parivara, dhyana, yantra, varna krama and avarana puja.
The moola is the door, not the palace. Vidalmukhi as Yakshini under Kubera is not Baglamukhi. Vidalamukhi as Yogini in the 64 Yogini mandala is a different adhikara. Folk books merged them, shastra never did.
The Fire Faces They Cannot Give
Ask sellers about agni kala bhedas and there is silence. Vadvamukhi stambhanas hidden enmity below the surface. Ulkamukhi interrupts fast moving attack. Jatavedamukhi stills repeating patterns. Jwalamukhi purifies vak itself. Brihadbhanumukhi stills an entire sabha or court.
Each has its own dhyana, viniyoga and prayoga bheda. Vak stambhana is not buddhi stambhana. One moola mantra knows none of this.And the same “mantra” is given to multiple disciples without knowing their dharma chakra.
Shun those who take dakshina for a mantra they cannot unlock, seal or explain. They are traders, not gurus. Tantra is adhikara, raksha, unpinning, entering the mandala step by step, and returning the fruit to Devi.
