In the inner Tantra, the throat does not invent mantra. The heart remembers it, and speech only learns how to carry it.

Where Speech Becomes Divine

When knowledge of the heart converts into speech, and that speech becomes the words of god, you are watching Vak turn inside out.

Para: unstruck sound resting in the heart, pure knowing without words.

Pashyanti: the seeing of sound, where knowing takes luminous form.

Madhyama: the inner whisper, mantra moving silently in the mind.

Vaikhari: uttered speech, what the world hears.

Matangi governs this crossing. She is Shyamala, the dark green one, and Mantrini, mistress of letters. Green is mantra still alive, still rooted in the body. She takes what is felt in anahata and gives it tongue, teeth and rhythm.

Green Becoming Blue

Green meets blue. Matangi becomes Ma Tara.

Esoterically both are Sarasvati currents. Matangi is the intimate Sarasvati, dwelling in music, in speech, in what is touched and tasted. Tara is Nila Sarasvati, the star, the deep blue night that ferries across the flood.

Green ripens into blue when wisdom stops wanting to be clever and becomes vast enough to rescue. The mantra that began as knowledge in the heart becomes compassion in the throat, able to hold what others cannot digest. That turning of the face, from giving wisdom to holding poison, is Matangi becoming Tara.

The Two Breasts

The image of the two breasts is initiatory, not sentimental.

The left breast is Ma Tara, who holds the venom in the throat of the child. In the myth Shiva drinks halahala and Tara mothers him, offering her breast so the fire cools and the poison rests at Vishuddha, neither swallowed into the heart nor spat into the world. Esoterically the guru does this for the disciple. She receives samskara, grief and rage into her own subtle throat and holds it until it turns. The left is lunar, ida, the cooling current.

The right breast is Matangi, who gives knowledge and nourishment directly from god. This is not information. It is jnana stanya, wisdom milk. The child does not study it, he drinks it and his nadis learn its taste. The right pours mantra, music and meaning straight into the mouth of newborn consciousness.

One breast protects from death. The other teaches how to live.

The Heart as Bhuvaneshwari

That is why a mother’s heart is Bhuvaneshwari.

Bhuvaneshwari is Akasha itself, the space in which all bhuvanas, all worlds, arise. Before mantra there is field. Before teaching there is heartbeat.

She is the first guru because the first diksha is not given by hand. It is given by resonance. In womb and at breast, the child’s breath entrains to the mother’s breath, the child’s anahata learns rhythm from hers. If her heart is wide, the child learns that consciousness itself is wide.

Heart to speech to god, and back to heart. Bhuvaneshwari as ground, Matangi as word, Tara as saviour.
