Tantra is the execution of your spirituality by removing avidya. It works on your “free will”. But remember free will is subjective to the good/bad karmas you have accumulated from your previous birth. Tantra can control destiny not change it. So unless you have good karmas in your pocket, free will work the moment your good karmas get over- tantra stops working for you and then the sufferings begin. You can’t escape sufferings, you can hold it for a while with your freewill.
For those who think they are powerful, because they know tantra and hence can trouble people, they are fooling themselves. Tantra is a science/technique that works through your good/bad karmas. The more you exhaust your good karmas with wrong doings, faster your bad karmas will show results. It is important to let go of false ego 1st by accepting mistakes, surrendering to divine not with an attempt to control . Once your cycle is complete- you can turn towards Tantra(inwards) & attain siddhis.
