The goal of Dakshinachara worship is to receive Maa Matangi’s blessings for knowledge, speech power, artistic abilities, education, communication skills, and spiritual growth. This path is suitable for householders, students, teachers, artists, speakers, and professionals who wish to improve their communication, confidence, and intellectual clarity.

Vamachara, or the left-hand path, is more esoteric and symbolic, and it is misunderstood. This path does not reject purity but tries to transcend the rigid idea of purity and impurity. In Vamachara worship, Maa Matangi is sometimes offered Ucchishta (symbolic remnants), representing the idea that the Divine exists even in what society rejects. The purpose is not to promote impurity, but to break psychological conditioning and dualistic thinking. Tantra believes that when a person is obsessed with external purity alone, the mind may still remain impure with ego, anger, jealousy, and fear. Vamachara path focuses on inner purity by confronting the subconscious mind.

In the Vamachara tradition, Maa Matangi is worshipped as the goddess who rules speech, influence, attraction, and command over expression. She grants Vak Siddhi (power of speech), attraction, authority in communication, artistic excellence, and influence over people through knowledge and words. However, this path requires strict guidance, self-control, and ethical grounding. Without discipline, Vamachara can be misunderstood and misused, which is why traditionally it is taught only by a guru.

The difference between Dakshinachara and Vamachara is not good vs bad, but discipline vs transcendence. Dakshinachara purifies the mind through rules and structure. Vamachara purifies the mind by breaking psychological limitations and confronting inner shadows. Both paths ultimately aim for the same goal which is inner transformation and union with divine consciousness.

Maa Matangi stands at the meeting point of these two paths. She is both refined knowledge and raw truth. She governs speech, and speech itself can bless or destroy, heal or hurt, build or break. Therefore, her worship always emphasises responsibility in speech, clarity in thought, and awareness in communication. In modern life, the deeper meaning of Maa Matangi worship is very relevant. Today, success often depends on communication skills, creativity, influence, and confidence. Maa Matangi sadhana refines these qualities. Whether through Dakshinachara or Vamachara, the real worship of Maa Matangi lies in speaking truth, using words responsibly, expressing knowledge, and removing ignorance.

Dakshinachara and Vamachara are two different methods, but both lead toward the same spiritual understanding, that true purity is purity of mind, speech, and intention. Maa Matangi, the goddess of inner expression and hidden wisdom, guides the seeker to master speech, understand the subconscious, and rise above social and psychological limitations. When worshipped with sincerity and discipline, she blesses the devotee with knowledge, influence, creativity, and spiritual insight.

Tantra is the execution of your spirituality by removing avidya. It works on your “free will”. But remember free will is subjective to the good/bad karmas you have accumulated from your previous birth. Tantra can control destiny not change it. So unless you have good karmas in your pocket, free will work the moment your good karmas get over- tantra stops working for you and then the sufferings begin. You can’t escape sufferings, you can hold it for a while with your freewill.

For those who think they are powerful, because they know tantra and hence can trouble people, they are fooling themselves. Tantra is a science/technique that works through your good/bad karmas. The more you exhaust your good karmas with wrong doings, faster your bad karmas will show results. It is important to let go of false ego 1st by accepting mistakes, surrendering to divine not with an attempt to control . Once your cycle is complete- you can turn towards Tantra(inwards) & attain siddhis.

But remember the law of karma is still working. One mistake with your free will and the whole cycle changes

Chaitra Navratra has begun and so have the good wishes, long notes on social media. Information flooding, and then there is silence. Silence that holds the meaning of the 9 auspicious nights- Parvathi’s tapasya. Tapasya is not about extreme austerities- standing in snow, fasting for years and meditating in forests. We need to question what does it actually mean to us? Because we don’t live in caves, we are living in families, with jobs and responsibilities.

Be it anything, but most are practicing sadhna while feeling like individual doers, like one owns it. So the feeling of “I am doing sadhna” , “I am improving” “I am evolved and progressing”, the “I” invades many. The self-absorption that follows. The sense of doership(ahamkara) remains.

Life keeps happening, people come, situations appear. And these situations bring us joy, loss, humiliations. Vedanta and Yogic philosophy say these experiences are not random, they are prarabdha karma. The results of seeds that were already sown once upon a time. Seeds that were planted before even you were born.

The bhagwat Gita((4:17)) says " the nature of karma is difficult to understand"

Your experiences of now/today is the unfolding of many actions whose origin we can’t remember. So if everything unfolding is the result of past karma- how should spirituality be practiced by living in this world? Traditional teaching that’s why emphasised on karma without expectations, feeding the hungry, helping others, performing dharmic actions, not because others need it, not because you think it is “your punya” .Punyata or dharmikta shouldn’t bring ego. A lot of people do charity for ego satisfaction. But without a single thought of ” i will gain punyata” sows the seed for future experiences. The BG calls this Nishkama karma- an action without attachment to results. This is Niyama in materialistic life too- doing your role by not feeding the ego that claims ownership
